Digital exhibition on Latvians in the Gulag

The aim of the digital exhibition created by Dd studio for the Occupation Museum of Latvia is to tell visitors about the suffering of the Latvian people during the deportations of the Soviet era. The emotional impact is achieved by choosing a material that is visually strong and emotionally charged – videos, photos, documents that are artistically enhanced. The digital exhibition allows enliven dry facts and create for visitors a strong sense of witnessing real historic events. The number of people deported to the Gulag is shown on a digital map where the places of deportation and prisons as well as the routes of deportations are demonstrated. One can learn about the living conditions there, read the eye-witness' accounts and memories, and examine the objects that the deported took with them to their places of exile and imprisonment.
